Tree Truck has served the Whanganui region since 2002, growing from a single specialist vehicle into one of the largest locally owned Powerco-approved contractor teams in the area. 

Under current leadership, we’ve continued to invest in qualifications, safety systems and equipment so we can take on the work that matters most to infrastructure clients: programme-based maintenance, urgent response, and complex removals in sensitive environments.

    Brett Stevenson

    MANAGING DIRECTOR

    With 20+ years’ experience in arboriculture, Brett specialises in utility vegetation management and infrastructure protection. A Level 4 qualified arborist with New Zealand Electricity Supply certification, he understands the demands of working around critical assets.

    Known for handling complex, high-risk work, he leads from the front to ensure jobs are delivered safely, compliantly and with minimal disruption. STMS qualified and highly experienced on-site, he builds strong relationships and is trusted by infrastructure clients to protect assets and keep projects moving.

    Sharnell Stevenson

    MANAGING PARTNER

    Sharnell leads Tree Truck with 15+ years’ experience in business operations, strategy and team performance across both large-scale and SME environments. She is focused on delivering structured, reliable outcomes for commercial clients through strong systems, clear communication and disciplined execution.

    A trusted partner to clients, Sharnell ensures work is delivered on time, to specification and with full compliance. Known for accountability and decisive problem-solving, she builds strong relationships while driving consistency across projects and long-term value for clients.

    Scott Watson

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Scott brings 16 years’ experience in arboriculture, specialising in utility and infrastructure vegetation management. A Level 4 qualified arborist with a New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply, he oversees operations, contract delivery and site coordination.

    STMS qualified with strong experience in client liaison and programme management, Scott ensures work is delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.

    Matthew

    FOREMAN

    Matthew is a Level 4 qualified arborist with 10 years’ experience in utility and amenity arboriculture. He holds a New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply and is STMS qualified.

    With strong technical capability in felling and dismantling, Matthew leads crews on-site to deliver safe, controlled and compliant outcomes.

    Brendan Gaudet

    FOREMAN

    Brendan has over 20 years’ industry experience, specialising in complex tree removal, rigging and dismantling. An experienced climber with international experience across Australia and Canada, he brings advanced technical skill to high-risk work.


    He has extensive knowledge of vegetation clearance across roading networks and challenging environments.

    Lewis Wright

    FOREMAN

    Lewis has 22 years’ experience in arboriculture, with specialist expertise in utility vegetation management and large-scale maintenance programmes. A Level 4 qualified arborist with a New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply, he holds 13 industry certifications.

    Known for delivering work efficiently and to specification, Lewis combines technical depth with strong safety and traffic management qualifications.
